Artist's Description
Title: Eagle Gone
Media: watercolor on Arches cold press
Original size: 12 x 16 inches
Eagle Gone is text from a letter Chief Seattle (of the Squamish Indians) sent to President Franklin Pierce in 1856. It speaks of the bounty and beauty of the land and the way people live in relationship to the land. What we do today, affects the earth and us, now and for generations to come.
Be thankful for its gifts and resources by taking care of them. Work in sync with its rhythm of life - growth and vitality to death and decay provide nourishment to give again new growth and vitality. Protect, replenish, recycle and treasure its abundance.
About Judy Dodds
My fascination with the power of ‘thoughts made visible’ and the mystery of the word as a vehicle of communication has led me on a wonderful journey as I merge message and technique with watercolor, brush and pen into a finished piece. Each piece brings exploration, inspiration and discovery — on a concrete level as I work with my tools and experience; on a spiritual level as a passionate heart treasures God. My response to life’s journey is to work with words, be inspired by great texts, express the abstract more tangibly and ... listen ... for God's still, small, gentle voice within the cacophony of the ups and downs, joys and sorrows experienced. In this relationship God comes transforming, with hope-full and wonderful surprises!
