A Peasant Must Stand
As I contemplated a layout for this Chinese Proverb, I pondered its meaning. Is this describing a lazy person or a fruitless way of life? Is this saying one’s patience and forebearance will be rewarded? Is it saying one must be pro-active, assertive or ambitions into order to realize success? What do you think?
I used the Chinese character for ambitious as the background image.
My fascination with the power of ‘thoughts made visible’ and the mystery of the word as a vehicle of communication has led me on a wonderful journey as I merge message and technique with watercolor, brush and pen into a finished piece. Each piece brings exploration, inspiration and discovery — on a concrete level as I work with my tools and experience; on a spiritual level as a passionate heart treasures God. My response to life’s journey is to work with words, be inspired by great texts, express the abstract more tangibly and ... listen ... for God's still, small, gentle voice within the cacophony of the ups and downs, joys and sorrows experienced. In this relationship God comes transforming, with hope-full and wonderful surprises!
